ThenCatch ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website and developer tools. For more about who we are, see our About page.

Information We Collect

Data You Provide

29 of our 32 tools run entirely in your browser. For those tools we never receive, store, or transmit what you type or paste in — the data stays on your device and no request carrying it is ever made.

Three tools are the exception, because they require a network lookup that a browser cannot perform directly. Each sends the value you enter to our server, which forwards it and returns the result:

  • DNS & WHOIS Lookup — the domain you query is sent to DNS resolvers and registry WHOIS/RDAP servers.
  • URL Redirect Checker — the URL you enter is requested server-side so the full redirect chain can be traced.
  • API Tester — the request you compose, including any headers you add, is proxied to the target endpoint.

We do not retain the inputs or responses for those three tools beyond the lifetime of the request. Because the API Tester forwards whatever headers you supply, do not paste production credentials into it.

Automatically Collected Information

We may collect certain information automatically when you visit our website, including:

  • IP address and general location data
  • Browser type and version
  • Device information
  • Pages visited and time spent on pages
  • Referring website addresses

QR Code Generation and Redirection

When you generate a QR code using our QR Code Generator tool, the encoded URL is automatically wrapped with our redirection service (e.g., thencatch.com/r?url=...). This service helps route traffic through our platform before reaching the final destination.

We may collect non-personally identifiable analytics data during this redirection process, such as click counts, timestamps, and general geographic location, to improve our services and providing traffic insights. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
