Reporting a Bug in a Tool

Tool bugs are the messages we act on fastest, but only if we can reproduce them. The ones we can fix same-day usually include:

The tool you were using and the exact input that misbehaved — a JSON snippet, the URL, the token, whatever it was.
What you expected the output to be, and what you actually got.
Your browser and version. Clipboard behaviour and file handling differ noticeably between Safari, Firefox, and Chromium.

If the input is sensitive, redact it — a structurally identical example reproduces most parser bugs just as well.

Corrections to a Guide

If a guide states something inaccurate, point us at the paragraph and, where relevant, the spec or documentation that contradicts it. We correct the article and note the change rather than removing it. Technical corrections are always welcome, including on posts published years ago.

Other Enquiries

Feature and tool requests. Tell us the workflow you are stuck on, not just the tool name — it usually leads to a better tool than the one requested.
Privacy and data questions. Anything our privacy policy does not answer.
AI training, scraping, and licensing. Covered by our terms of service; write to us for anything beyond them.
Partnerships and sponsorship. We do not accept paid guest posts or link placements, so please do not ask.

Before You Write

Is my data sent to your servers?: Most tools run entirely in your browser. The few that need a server (API Tester, URL Redirect Checker, DNS & WHOIS Lookup) send only what is needed to complete the request. The privacy policy lists exactly which.
Can you recover something I pasted into a tool?: No. Inputs are not stored on our side, so there is nothing for us to recover. Favorites and theme settings live in your browser's local storage and disappear if you clear it.
Do you offer an API or self-hosted version?: Not currently. If you have a concrete use case, describe it and we will tell you honestly whether it is on the roadmap.
Can I use output from the tools commercially?: Yes. What you generate or convert is yours. See the terms of service for the limits on scraping and automated access to the site itself.

Response Time

We typically reply within 24–48 hours on business days. ThenCatch is maintained alongside client work, so a reproducible bug report will usually get a faster and more useful answer than a general question. For urgent matters, say so in the subject line.
